2006 Pinot Noir Reserve:
4 Stars. “One of the original Oregon heroes: great terroir, truthful, non-flashy winemaking. A glass makes you want the bottle, the bottle makes you want another. Very few Oregon Pinots can do that. Now-2013.” (June 1, 2009)

Pale straw with a lovely nose of peach, lemon, and some croissant. The palate leans toward austere, though, with nice acidity and a flinty aspect. Excellent.
2007 Mount Richmond Pinot Noir: 89 Points “…Deeper and riper than most wines from this vintage, offering powerful dark fruit flavors…turns spicier on the broad, seductively sweet finish. The richness of this wine surprised me in the context of the vintage.” – Stephen Tanzer (May 1, 2009)
The 2023 Riesling Estate segues from flint and candle smoke to stone fruit, honey and slate aromas. The medium-bodied palate features ripe, tropical, spicy flavors. About eight grams per liter residual sugar balance its linear acidity, and it has a long, textural finish.
“Brilliant red fruit aromatics, with sweet candied raspberries coming to the fore, buoyed by notes of fresh mint. The palate is fleshy and offers plenty of tannin and structure, fresh red and black bramble fruits interplaying with savoury herbal notes, and finishes with a gravelly mineral tone.”
Our 2017 Five Mountain Pinot Noir was awarded 91 points by Wine Enthusiast! “Peppery aromas carry that spicy impression into the palate, where medium-ripe red berries rule. Look for additional details of sweet grass and fresh herbs as it gently fades. Drink now through the early 2020s.” – Paul Gregutt The review will post in…
James Suckling visited Elk Cove during the 2016 Harvest and gave our 2014 Five Mountain Pinot Noir an outstanding 92 point review: “Very tight young wine with soft and silky tannins and plenty of plums, light cedar and toffee flavors. Medium body and a long finish. Give this time. Better in 2019.” – James Suckling James…
